Simon and I have lived in Tokai ever since we moved down here from Joburg 3 years ago. Every Saturday morning there’s a lovely market in the forest, with food and craft stalls with an organic feel. We visited it once or twice when we first moved here, and never again. I guess “life” just happened and you always think you’ll go next week.
We had some friends from the UK staying with us after our wedding. Living in the UK you tend to walk a lot more than we do in SA, and they suggested taking a walk into the forest and to the market. I’d never thought of doing it before, silly me. The walk, of course, was beautiful. I can’t believe we’ve never done it before.
Now we have bought a house and we will be moving at the end of August. We won’t be living so close to the forest or the market, and it won’t be long that we’ll be able to do the walk. So it’s become a Saturday morning routine for us, to take Jacqui and walk down to the market for some breakfast. This weekend I took my camera and snapped away – here’s a bit of what we experience every Saturday morning. Man it’s terrible living in SA ;) Thanks Jane, Holly and Sophie for suggesting this, we’re so glad you did.
Met this cute little pup – look how beautifully he sat for me.
Check the size of those mushrooms (the packets on the left are button mushrooms).
My friend Holly (2 yrs) says these are not flowers, they’re daisies ;)
