Carli & Nick | Dieu Donne Franschhoek

Carli and Nick are from Joburg, but they chose to get married at the beautiful Dieu Donne estate in Franschhoek. On the morning of the wedding, I got an sms from Carli saying “dress warm, it’s freezing”. Judging by the weather in CT it was cold, windy and overcast. I couldn’t believe that she was going to have terrible weather on her wedding day when they had specifically planned to get married at such a beautiful venue. But luckily, as the day went on, the weather cleared, and while it was still a bit chilly and windy, by late afternoon the sun was peeking through the clouds and you could see the mountains.

The wedding was beautiful, and I must take my hat off to the groom who injured his knee and was in hospital just a few weeks before the wedding. Although we managed to limit moving around during the couple shoot, he stood at the alter, through all the family photos, and managed a first dance later in the evening. Well done Nick!  And Carli, well done for braving that cold.
